Here it is at last. I started this in July and it was a struggle to draw and paint every last inch of it. Its 15 1/2 x 22 inches. All I've got to say is I'm glad its done and I'll never ever agree to a commissioned painting again.... at least not of a building, a least not this large, at least not with ducks..... not of a boat either. I think I've said this before.

Carole,
I had to laugh when I read that. I made my living for a decade doing commissioned watercolors and ink drawings of houses and buildings. By the time I reached "My Last Ever" I could barely force myself to pick up a brush! Even the thought of it today, almost 10 years later, makes me cringe.
It is lovely, though!

this is lovely--but I know what you mean--I hate doing art work on demand---so I always say no.
I feel your pain. I just finished two commissioned paintings that I started working on in May. Since I also work full time at another job I had absolutely no time for any other painting. I'm completely burned out right now!
Thank you, Andrea, Aurora and Donna. The finished painting was well recieved and this being such a small town, several people have seen it and I've had 2 people ask me to paint their houses. I'm glad I have the luxury of saying no.
...but I am sure you made someone very, very happy. It is very charming and nicely done! Thank you for you blog - I really enjoyed it and am sure I will look to if for guidance as I teach myself how to paint... I sketch alot, but am terrified to even pick up a brush... LOL
