I have at least one new painting, but can't get my scanner to work. After all morning trying to figure whats wrong, I've given up. This happened before and I got it going again, but can't remember what I did. The scanner won't connect with photoshop elements.
Anyway, thought I ought to put something here, so here's a photo of some books I've made recently.

Carole your work is exquisite! What a treat to find your blog thanks to your visiting mine and leaving a nice comment. And how fun seeing Berkeley and people I've seen before around town on your Alaskan blog. Maybe next time you visit we could meet. I really love your watercolor style.
P.S. I want to learn how to make beautiful books like yours!
Lots of good books out there. If you start making them, it might become addictive.
Jana, Almost missed you first message... thank you so much for visiting. So cool that you recognized Charley and Aimee. I would love to visit with you if I get down there again and hope I do.
Nice bookmaking Carole. I was at a craft show a few months ago where a lady had taken covers and pages from old children's books and used them to make the covers for a wound binding kid's journal must like yours. She did quite well. Have a joyous Christmas and drop by for some holiday cheer.
Hi, Carole! I just found your blog from R.'s link. Beautiful watercolors! I'm also interested in what you use to stitch your books together. I'm about to make a journal form BFK Rives paper, and am stumbling along. :-D
Happy New Year!

Liz,Thank you for visiting my blog and kind comment, and in answer to your question: I usually use linen thread. I wax it by running over a piece of bees wax. You can find waxed linen in some art supply stores. I found a spool of artificial sinew at a thrift store and am using it too. I've also used waxed cotton embroidery thread. volcanoarts.com has a lot of supplies.
James, Thank you for visiting. The kids book cover sounds cool. I'd like to have seen it.
